Baker's Chocolate Chip Cookies


2 1/4  cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 eggs

1/2  teaspoon salt

1 cup nuts -- coarsely chopped

12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup butter or margarine -- softened (2 sticks)

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3/4 cup granulated sugar


Mix flour with baking soda and salt ; 

Set aside.  

Beat butter, sugars,  vanilla and eggs until light and fluffy.  

Blend in flour mixture.  

Stir in  nuts and chips. 

Drop from teaspoon, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking  sheets.  

Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.  

Makes about  6 dozen.
